Agricultural Auctions at Lacy Scott and Knight
Lacy Scott and Knight is a long established and independent partnership of chartered surveyors, valuers, property agents and auctioneers operating across East Anglia from offices in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket.
We were formed by the merger of two long-standing Suffolk businesses, Lacy Scott & Sons of Bury St Edmunds and RC Knight & Sons of Stowmarket, both established in the late 1800s. The two companies developed strong links with the local community, each running a livestock market in their respective town. Now Lacy Scott and Knight continue to keep their strong relationship with the local rural community thriving through our professional work and auctioneering service.
Lacy Scott and Knight provide a professional auction service whether that is an onsite auction with the ability of online bidding for those who cannot make the sale in person or a timed online, specialising in agricultural machinery and equipment. Our sales, which are held throughout the year, are exceptionally well attended.
Through extensive advertising, we attract a large number of potential buyers, both from the local area and further afield, ensuring the best prices possible are achieved. Demand for good quality items of machinery with a genuine provenance are reflected in the premium prices we obtain. Our sales generally include a wide range of farm implements, machinery and equipment.
Onsite Auctions
Hosting onsite in person auctions has always been a popular and sociable way to dispose of farm machinery, equipment and other plant equipment in an efficient manner for those who have chosen to retire from farming industry.
Our dedicated team work closely with Buyers and Sellers to ensure the process from creating the catalogue to end of the sale is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Onsite auctions can be accompanied by online bidding to have the best of both worlds.
Online Timed Auctions
The other way we can dispose of farm machinery and equipment is through an online timed auction. Although not always as popular as an onsite auction, this method helps to attract buyers on a national scale but as well as international to help achieve premium prices for our clients within a suitable time frame.
This method is popular for those who want to dispose of machinery and equipment in a more private manner with little disruption, the auction will run for generally ten days and end at a set time. Online timed auctions can help to show items to wide audience accessing them through iBidder, Bidspotter and our website showcasing descriptions and plenty of photos of each lot to ensure buyers know what they are buying. Once the auction has come to an end, payment is made and buyers receive instructions on how to collect the items.
